aboutus

Don’t try this at home!  Instead, let the daredevil danger junkie in you live vicariously through the world-renowned, slightly twisted, and completely zany antics of BUSKERFEST 2010.

Proudly presented by the Sault Youth Association through continued support from TenarisAlgomaTubes, BUSKERFEST gathers the finest performers this planet has to offer, and sets them lose on the streets of Sault Ste. Marie.  Reserve the weekend of August 6, 7 and 8, 2010 and prepare to have your jaw dropped, your eyes bugged, and your funny bone tickled as BUSKERFEST celebrates seven years of wonderment and stunning feats of the incredible.  Quickly growing into one of Sault Ste. Marie’s most anticipated summer events, BUSKERFEST is an unforgettable and awe-inspiring three days full of delights for the young and the young at heart.

The BUSKERFEST 2010 performers, in conjunction with volunteers from the Sault Youth Association, will have Queenstown Square 1 (between East and Brock) closed to traffic but open to everything else as they present their remarkable talents right on the street.  Local food, refreshments, artists, craftspeople, workshops and demonstrations all round out the festival into the perfect family event.  Come join in the shenanigans and help set the city on fire!

Thrilled to keep the magic alive, the Sault Youth Association (SYA) is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to working with our youth and our community to better the engagement and advancement of our city’s young people to improve the overall quality of life in Sault Ste. Marie.

- ADMISSION -

Admission to the festival site is free of charge. However, following each performance the performers will pass a hat.  We encourage you to be generous and reward them for the smiles, laughs and amazing talent they work so hard to provide.

- SCHEDULE -

The Buskerfest 2010 performer schedule is not yet finalized.

- RECOMMENDATIONS -

It is important to the Sault Buskerfest Committee that all spectators and performers remain safe and healthy.  Be aware of weather conditions and be sure to bring sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and comfortable footwear in order to extract as much enjoyment from the festival as possible.

Seating is not provided, but visitors to the festival are welcome to bring folding chairs.

Bottled water and other refreshments will be available on the festival site.

Please supervise your children at all times.  Stray children will be sold to the circus.

As much as we love our four-legged friends, the Sault Buskerfest Committee strongly recommends that spectators leave their pets at home.
